JACOB GOFF is an apparel and graphic designer and artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Now with over 10 years industry experience, Jacob graduated from Northumbria with a BA (hons) in Fashion Design and Marketing in 2014 and an MA in Performance Product Design in 2015. With stints at Nike, Abercrombie and Fitch and END., he specialises in menswear and has completed projects with Berghaus, Adidas, New Balance, Margiela and many more. His skills range from concept generation, design, manufacture and creative direction.
Jacob is interested in reusing and reinterpreting surplus materials to construct clothing and textile pieces that explore the relationship between his environment and design practice. Through analysis of this process, Jacob intends to further understand how the action of design can reverberate back through the body, therefore ‘redesigning’ the designer and symbiotically linking being, object and environment.
In 2023, Jacob was awarded the National Trust North East Emerging Artst Award, in which he exhibited three textile wall hangings at Seaton Delaval Hall.
Jacob is also Co-Director of Lessons (lessonsresearch.com), a 3D object and soft good design and manufacturing company that focuses on the combined expertise of 3D design with fashion and textile craftsmanship to produce limited batches of handmade products.
Finally, Jacob hosts Time Wastin’, a monthly radio show on Independant station Slack’s Radio and DJs both with cohost Samara as Time Wastin’ and solo as ffog. He has sat on the Slack’s Radio committee since 2023.
